Fall 2007 gowns

I have been going through the Fall 2007 slide shows for some time already. What stands out most, IMHO are the dresses.

Okay, I love dresses. They are feminine and easy to wear. No worrying whether this top goes with this skirt. With a dress, the entire outfit is properly coordinated.

The dresses for Fall/Winter 2007 are simply gorgeous. How I wish I could afford couture. Then again, if I could afford couture, I wouldn't be able to wear those gowns anyway.. not without plenty of down time after massive liposuction.

Color is hot this season. Brights. Muted. Reds. Pinks. Just pick a color that really flatters you.

Pink is universally flattering and this gown is perfect for Fall/Winter 2007. I think it is absolutely gorgeous.

A simple chiffon gown, in a glorious pink that makes a woman look radiant and feminine and decorated with a rhinestone pin.

Did you ever long for a Vera Wang gown? Her wedding gowns are legendary. Her evening gowns simply gorgeous. But unless you have the cash, you might find them too pricey.
Still, her nightgowns are gorgeous. Better still, you can wear them every other night, with one night in between for the gown to dry between washes.

So you aren't built like a model. This gown for plus size women captures the mood for Fall 2007 and every Fall thereafter. The color is definitely perfect for autumn anyway.

If you look good in brown and are plus sized, this could be the gown for you.

Dark colors are back for the season. Purple is hot. A simple purple and black dress would fit in very well with the look for autumn/winter 2007

Empire gowns are universally flattering. Let this gown update your look for Fall/Winter 2007.

Chic dresses for Autumn

Early autumn is still too warm for the heavily layered look for Autumn 2007, but too cold for midriff baring, or too-light-weight dresses.

You would want something you can wear for more than just a few weeks. Something beyond just trendy. I'd suggest a sheath dress. That dress is seasonless. You can wear it throughout the year, using each season's new accessories and tops to update the look.

For early Fall 2007, wear it on its own. Granted, it doesn't cinch the waist but skims over the entire body. A boon if you want to hide a thick waist, some flab or have big hips. But if you really want that hourglass effect, wear a belt. Wide to emphasise the waist, narrow for a ladylike look. Pick a belt you are comfortable with.

As the temperature falls, wear a black jacket with it. Same sheath, different look.

When spring comes take off the jacket and wrap a cashmere shawl until it gets warm enough for you to wear the sheath on its own. Then update it with the accessories of the season.

Get yourself a sheath. It is a Fall classic, winter classic and spring classic. Hey, you might as well wear it in summer too.

Autumn 2007 dresses

For fall 2007, the look is tight and feminine. Dresses are cinched at the waist and skim the thigh. The hourglass look is a must this season.

No doubt, black is everywhere but why follow the crowd. Not everyone wears black well. If you are one of those that don't this dress is for you. It is a wonderful transition dress, in a place with good central heating, that is. Wear it under one of this season's coats and when the coat goes off, heads turn.

Yohji Yamamoto

The Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto is known for his unstructured masterpieces that introduce new shapes to the world of fashion.

This one's interesting. Especially if you have a lean figure to go with it. It doesn't show off the curves. However, the sheer look hints at feminine curves.
