Stripes can make you look fatter or thinner. Depending on how they are arranged.

If you are too thin, horizontal stripes are your friends as they make you look wider.

Most of us have the opposite problem and would welcome the slimming effect of vertical stripes or artfully placed diagonal stripes. Unfortunately such dresses are few and far between. Most stripes are horzontal. The designers probably expect all their customers to be a slim as their models. *pout*

After much searchin, I found some printed dresses with stripes that give you a slimminng effect.

For this dress, the stripes are on the border but the cut of the dress itself is slimming.

Personally, I love anything slimming. I bought a vertical striped dress which fitted, had a slimming cut and vertical stripes for maximum fat camouflaging effect. Sorry, I got the last piece.
